Play, learn, and read — one rules engine

The game explains itself while you play it.

A rules kernel that recognizes weiqi's own vocabulary — atari, capture, ko, connection, eye — as it happens on the board, and an interface that surfaces this section's own glossary the moment each concept becomes relevant. No account required.

Play

Play normal Chinese-rules weiqi on 9×9, 13×13, or 19×19, as Black or White, against five local AI tiers. Two passes end the game; mark dead stones, then count.

Capture Go

A separate first-capture learning game on 7×7. Use it to make liberties, atari, and capture concrete before returning to normal play.

Learn

Step through the Weiqi Overview lesson as an interactive board sequence: liberties, atari, and capture, worked out one move at a time.

Tsumego

Graded life-and-death problems, every answer checked by the real rules kernel. Reviews are scheduled by spaced repetition, so problems come back right when you're about to forget them.

Read

The section's own glossary, compiled straight from its markdown source — the same text the hover-cards in Play and Learn draw from.

One graph, three faces

A capture in Play, a step in Learn, and the glossary entry for “capture” in Read are the same concept seen three ways. The rules engine (@red-cup-engineering/weiqi-engine) emits semantic events with a termRef pointing straight at this section's own corpus; this app never hardcodes a definition — every hover-card and glossary entry is compiled from the same markdown at build time.
